West Coast Democrat Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and East Coast Republican Pat Toomey (R-PA) have found common ground with the Corn Ethanol Elimination Act of 2015.
As the RFS Reform Act (H.R. 704) was introduced in the House, the bill’s co-sponsors didn’t mince words. Representative Goodlatte (R-VA) called the RFS “a boondoggle.” Democrat Peter Welch of Vermont was more generous in his description labeling it a “well-intended flop.”
After enduring eight years of this unfortunate policy, Democrats (and Republicans) are turning sour on the Renewable Fuel Standard. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) introduced the Corn Ethanol Mandate Elimination Act of 2013 with her pal from across the aisle, Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK).
